Nursing Faculty, Assistant Professor – F0115 Open Until Filled

General Information: John Tyler Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education and the fifth largest of the 23 community colleges in Virginia. Responsibilities: Full-time, nine-month teaching positions available in nursing with flexible start dates beginning the Fall 2014 semester. Teach a variety of courses in face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online formats Full-time teaching responsibilities include teaching the equivalent of 15 credit hours per semester, engaging students in the learning process, clinical supervision of students, course and curriculum development, student advising, and accurate maintenance of student files. Full-time faculty members fully participate in nursing program development and evaluation, college activities and committees, and represent John Tyler Community College at community events and professional opportunities.

Multiple positions may be filled from this posting depending on budget availability. The position is open until filled and screening of applications will begin upon receipt.

Qualifications: Required qualifications: Master’s Degree in Nursing required by the start date. Recent nursing experience; excellent oral and written communications skills; ability to teach a combination of day, evening, weekend, hybrid, and/or online classes; and flexible to work at any of the College’s locations. Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check. Preferred qualifications: College teaching experience and ability to use instructional technology.
