Education Support Specialist II – PT050 Open until filled

Hiring Range: $11.54-$15.00

Responsibilities: Provide Distance Education, Placement Testing and other tests to students for the various programs of study at John Tyler Community College; monitor email and fax messages; provide testing assistance for students with disabilities. Positions are limited to working a maximum 20-29 hours a week. Incumbent will be required to work week-day hours, two evenings a week, and Saturdays.

Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience working with students in a higher education environment. Knowledge of on-line testing and Blackboard procedures, and use of Microsoft Office applications strongly preferred. Must have excellent communication skills, computer and customer service skills; be able to work in a fast paced, diverse, and occasionally stressful environment. Applicants must also have the ability to work a flexible schedule at either the Chester or Midlothian campuses and accept related duties as assigned in a relatively unsupervised capacity. Successful completion and passing of a background check is required for employment.
