Angels Have Arrived!
Posted on October 31, 2013
This is the ninth year John Tyler Community College has partnered with NBC12 and the Salvation Army for the Angel Tree program. You may have already noticed the tree up in the Midlothian Administration Building and the one in Goyne Hall at Chester. Soon they will be full of angels ready to be adopted. Each angel represents a local child and his/her holiday wish and clothing sizes.
How to Adopt
- Select your angel(s)
- Add your name to the Angel Sign-Out Sheet (located next to each tree)
- Purchase new gifts
- Do not wrap the gifts
- Tag each gift with your angel’s name and code
- Return your gifts by December 5 to College Relations (E124) at Midlothian or Laurie Brown in Goyne Hall at Chester. Important: Gifts for angels adopted at John Tyler must be returned to the College.
If you do not have time to shop for an angel but want to contribute, cash donations are being collected in E124 at Midlothian and A102c at Chester. The cash will be used to buy gifts for angels that are not adopted or returned.
Angel Tree Volunteer Opportunities
The College plans to organize two JTCC group volunteer days, one at the Richmond distribution center and one at the Petersburg distribution center. You may volunteer individually or with your coworkers, your student clubs, your family, and your friends. We will post more on the JTCC group volunteer days as we get more information.
