PixedMedia it is! We’ve settled on a name, and we’ve got a flyer to boot. Spread the word if you know someone who might be interested! Email images, design work, writing, poetry or anything else to: pixedmediasubmissions@gmail.com.

2) DC TRIP (20 November)
Friday is the registration deadline to book your seat for Art Club’s DC expedition! Contact Mr Ferguson as soon as possible if you are interested in attending. This year, Art Club will charge a $5 fare to help offset the extra expenses associated with renting a van.
3) MOORE COLLEGE OF ART & DESIGN (8 November)
A representative from Moore College of Art & Design – the nation’s only all-girl arts college – will speak to John Tyler students on Monday, 8 November (next week) in A202.
4) PIZZA SALES
We have volunteer opportunities during next week’s pizza sale for the shift starting at 11:30am. Contact Mr Ferguson if you can help out!

1) DC TRIP (20 November, tentative)
The fall DC trip is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, 20 November. Contact Mr Ferguson if you’re interested in attending!
So far five people have expressed interest; be sure to add your name to the list to make sure we get a van with enough seats to accommodate everyone. Art Club still has to book the van, and we may ask for a $5 fare to help defray some of the additional cost associated with renting a van.
2) ’ZINE
The club wanted more a descriptive title for the ’Zine project than the working titles we were using: “1x,” “Art Club ’Zine,” “J∙TAC” or “LV.” Alternate suggestions from the meeting were “Ink & Paper” and “Pixed Media.” If you have any suggestions for a name, an idea for a logo or any other comments or suggestions please let Ian Glass know.
Whatever it’s called, we will be accepting everything from images to sound to architecture to writing to whatever-else-you-can-think-of between Monday, 1 November and Monday, 15 November.
We’ve also learned that John Tyler will not host the project on its servers, so we will need to find an alternate solution. There will be a meeting in the Mac Lab (A207) this Friday, 29 October at 2pm to talk about some of these points.

(1) VMFA COLLEGE NIGHT (Tomorrow)
Don’t forget to grab a student ID from the counseling office! Then enjoy the show and the food tomorrow at the VMFA from 7 until 9:30 PM.
(2) PORTFOLIO SHOOT (This Friday)
Need to add new work to your portfolio before National Portfolio Day? We’ve added a portfolio shoot from 2 PM to 6 PM this Friday (22 Oct). Bring in your work and a storage device (or we can email your work),and we’ll help you document your recent work so that you can build your portfolio.
And hey while you’re waiting to have your work photographed, why not help out the Theatre Club with their Full Moon Madness preparations? We’ll give you a call when we’re ready for you. Afterwards, several Art Clubbers are carpooling to Richmond to take in the InLight festivities too.
(3) FULL MOON MADNESS (This Saturday)
We are in desperate need for volunteers for all shifts! If you can help out this Saturday anytime between 3:30 until 9:30, email Khiem Tran and let him know when you are available.
