Ian | Tuesday October 7, 2008 is Founder’s Day at John Tyler Community College. The college is closed for classes, so we will not have a meeting, nor sell pizza. We’ll resume with our regularly scheduled program next week on October 14.

We still need volunteers for the 12-12:30 shifts on Tuesday, September 23rd. – Remember there is an incentive for “active status” art club members,participate in 4 fundraisers and receive a discount on the April trip to NYC.
Volunteers will beneeded on an ongoing basis for half hour shifts on Tuesdays between 11 and 1:30.
On 9/16 we made $97.66 in profit.

- Campus Picnics
- Chester Picnic- Monday 9/22 -We need a second volunteer to be present for the Art Club. If you are available on Monday 9/22, 12-1pmplease come out an support our presence at this event. It will be a good opportunity for recruiting!
Midlothian- Monday 9/29 We could use additional volunteers to create a presence for the Art Clubat the Midlo campus. 12-1
- First Friday 10/03
- The Art Club will meet at ART6 located 6 E Broad at7:00. As always, I *Shannon* live nearbyif anyone wants to meet up ahead of time and go downtown together. Call or email me.
- Face Painting 10/12
- Berkdale neighborhood association is contributing 50.00 to the Art Club inexchange for a 2 hours of face painting. Additional volunteers are requested, you don’t have to stay the wholetime.
- November:
- The A.C. is arranging a day trip to Washington D.C. More information to come.

Fall Open House dates include Portfolio Review Sessions with faculty from thevisual arts and design departments. Portfolios are reviewed on a first-come,first-served basis. Please keep in mind that portfolio reviewers will not makeadmissions decisions; they give you feedback on the quality and range of yourwork, and give you a better idea of what else you may need to include in yourportfolio.
