Just a reminder that the Sherwood Forest Literary Review deadline is next Friday, January 23.

The Sherwood Forest Literary Review is an annual publication of John Tyler Community College and is published in conjunction with the annual student literary and art contest. The publication has highlighted the creativity and talent of John Tyler students since the 1970’s. Students may submit their work beginning in the fall. Judges review and select winners in each category. The winning entries are published in the Review, and the authors and artists are recognized at the College’s Student Awards Banquet and Ceremony in late April.
Contest Rules and Submission Requirements
The contest is open to current John Tyler students only. Students may be enrolled in credit or non-credit courses. All entries must be the student’s original work and cannot have been previously published or professionally exhibited or offered for sale. All entries must be submitted electronically. The format for literary entries is: portrait layout, Times New Roman, 12 point font. Word count limits are as follows: Fiction and nonfiction entries: 2,500 words Poetry entries: 1,000 words. All art entries must be submitted in jpeg format. Only two submissions total per student, one submission per category.

The Review accepts entries in art, as well as, fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. Send your entries to sherwoodforest@jtcc.edu.
