Welcome new and returning students!
The start of a new school year means the start of a new semester of the Art Club at John Tyler. Last year was a blast. The Art Club is a terrific way to meet and get to know other students who are interested in art.
The Art Club is a student club at John Tyler Community College for those who make or are interested in art. Every year we take trips to D.C. and New York, view art at local venues, and participate in functions around the college:
- weekly pizza sales,
- art sales every semester,
- Fool for Art festival at John Tyler,
- First Friday Art Walks in Richmond,
- and of course trips far afoot.
You don’t have to be an art major to join, and we have members at both campuses. If you’re interested in learning more about the Art Club, contact cferguson@jtcc.edu for information.
Just a reminder that the Sherwood Forest Literary Review deadline is next Friday, January 23.
From their website:
The Sherwood Forest Literary Review is an annual publication of John Tyler Community College and is published in conjunction with the annual student literary and art contest. The publication has highlighted the creativity and talent of John Tyler students since the 1970’s. Students may submit their work beginning in the fall. Judges review and select winners in each category. The winning entries are published in the Review, and the authors and artists are recognized at the College’s Student Awards Banquet and Ceremony in late April.
