Allied Health Preparation, Pre-Nursing Scholarship

The Allied Health Preparation, Pre-Nursing Scholarship is to be used to assist a student intending to enroll in John Tyler Community College’s nursing program. The scholarship will be used toward the cost of tuition, books and fees.
The following criteria must be met:
- Must complete a scholarship application.
- Must maintain at least a 2.5 grade point average (GPA) while enrolled, or for incoming freshman, have graduated from high school with at least a 2.5 GPA.
- May be enrolled as a full or part-time student at John Tyler Community College.
- Must be enrolled in the Allied Health Preparation, Pre-Nursing (CSC).
Chesterfield County Scholarship

The Chesterfield County Scholarships were established to help John Tyler Community College students, who live in Chesterfield County, with the cost of tuition, books and fees.
Eligibility criteria include:
- Completion of a scholarship application.
- Must maintain a 3.2 grade point average (GPA) while enrolled, or for incoming freshman, must have graduated from high school with at least a 3.2 GPA.
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student at John Tyler Community College.
- Preference will be given to students majoring in the following programs: Police Science (AAS), Early Childhood Development (AAS), Early Childhood Development – Teacher Assistant Specialization (AAS), Transfer Degree (AS, AA), or EMT’s returning for a Nursing (AAS) degree.
- Must live in Chesterfield County.
CJW Medical Center Endowed Nursing Scholarship

The CJW Medical Center Endowed Scholarship is designed to assist a second-year nursing student enrolled at John Tyler Community with the cost of tuition, books and fees.
Eligibility criteria include:
- Completion of a scholarship application
- Must maintain at least a 2.7 grade point average (GPA) while enrolled.
- May be enrolled as a full-time or part-time student at John Tyler Community College.
- Must be enrolled in one of the following: Nursing (AAS), Nursing – Traditional RN Track (AAS), Nursing – Hybrid Distance Education Track (AAS).
- Must demonstrate some financial need.
- Must have completed 36 or more credit hours.
CJW/JTCC Partnership Nursing Program at Johnston-Willis Scholarship

The CJW/JTCC Partnership Nursing Program at Johnston Willis established scholarships at John Tyler Community College to assist students interested in pursuing nursing careers with the cost of tuition, books and fees.
In exchange for these scholarships, the recipients will be offered opportunities to work at CJW Hospital while progressing through the nursing program and must commit to working for CJW Hospital after graduation for one year, per year of scholarship funding. (For example, a student who receives a scholarship for two years must commit to working at CJW Hospital for two years.) Scholarship recipients, who do not fulfill their commitment to CJW Hospital, must reimburse the scholarship funds within 2 months of last receiving them.
There is no limit to the number of years qualified students may apply for the scholarships.
Eligibility criteria include:
- Completion of a scholarship application.
- Must maintain at least a 2.5 grade point average (GPA) while enrolled.
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student at John Tyler Community College.
- Must be enrolled in one of the following programs: Nursing (AAS), Nursing – Traditional RN Track (AAS), Nursing – Hybrid Distance Education Track (AAS).
- Must demonstrate some financial need.
- Agree to work for CJW Hospital for one year for every year of funding.
- Current CJW Hospital employees must exhaust their tuition reimbursement funds before receiving scholarship funds. The scholarship funds may then be applied to the balance of the costs.
Colonial Heights Voiture 1530 40 & 8 Nursing Scholarship

The Colonial Heights Voiture 1530/40 & 8 is the honor society of the American Legionnaires. It is composed of veterans from both World Wars, and the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. The word "voiture" is a French word meaning "box cars," which were used to transport men and horses to and from the fighting fronts during World War I. Membership in this organization is given in recognition for service to the American Legion and/or its programs.
To ensure that nurses continue to be trained, the Colonial Heights Voiture 1530/40 & 8 has established a scholarship. This scholarship is designed to assist a student enrolled at John Tyler Community College with the cost of tuition, books and fees.
Eligibility criteria include:
- Completion of a scholarship application.
- Must maintain at least a 2.7 cumulative grade point average (GPA) while enrolled, or for incoming freshman, must have graduated from high school with at least a 2.7 GPA.
- May be enrolled as a full-time or part-time student at John Tyler Community College.
- Must be enrolled in one of the following: Nursing (AAS), Nursing – Traditional RN Track (AAS), Nursing – Hybrid Distance Education Track (AAS).
- Must demonstrate some financial need.
- Scholarship recipients will be expected to attend the organization’s annual recognition event in the fall.
DuPont Polyester Endowed Scholarship

The DuPont Endowed Scholarship is designed to assist a student, pursuing an education at John Tyler Community College, with tuition, books and fees.
The following criteria must be met:
- Complete a scholarship application.
- Must maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) while enrolled, or for incoming freshman, have graduated from high school with at least a 3.0 GPA.
- May be enrolled either as a full or part-time student at John Tyler Community College.
- Must be enrolled in one of the following programs: Business Administration (AS), Engineering (AS), General Studies (AS), General Studies – Psychology Specialization (AS), General Studies – Teacher Education Specialization (AS), Information Systems (AS), Accounting (AAS), Architectural Engineering Technology (AAS), Business Management (AAS), Information Technology (AAS), Information Technology – Cisco Network Track (AAS), Information Technology – Computer Applications Track (AAS), Information Technology – Network Support Track (AAS), Information Technology – Program Development Track (AAS), Mechanical Engineering Technology (AAS), Mechanical Engineering Technology – Mechatronics Technician Specialization (AAS), Nursing (AAS).

- Current John Randolph Medical Center employees should use their tuition reimbursement funds instead of applying for these scholarship funds.
Joseph C. Elliott Nurses Fund – Richmond Voiture Locale 53 Scholarship

This scholarship is named in memory of Joseph C. Elliott, director of nurses training for many years, for his years of service to the local and state nurses training education.
Eligibility criteria include:
- Completion of a scholarship application.
- Must maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) while enrolled.
- Muse be enrolled as a full-time student at John Tyler Community College.
- Must be enrolled in one of the following programs: Nursing (AAS), Nursing – Traditional RN Track (AAS), Nursing – Hybrid Distance Education Track (AAS).
- Must demonstrate some financial need.
- Preference will be given to veterans and those who are currently serving in the armed forces.
Margaret G. Lewis Endowed Scholarship

Margaret G. Lewis, an alumna of the John Tyler Community College’s nursing program and President of HCA’s Capital Division, has had a 30-year association with the College. During that time, Ms. Lewis has served in many capacities, most recently as the Foundation’s Chair. Ms. Lewis was the architect behind the $1.7 million gift of the nursing facility located on the Johnson Willis campus.
The Margaret G. Lewis Scholarship is established to assist students enrolled in a pre-nursing program and is available regardless of national test scores. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist students who wish to pursue a career in nursing. The scholarship will assist a John Tyler Community College student with tuition, books and fees.
The following criteria must be met:
- Must complete a scholarship application.
- Must maintain at least a 2.5 grade point average (GPA) while enrolled, or for incoming freshman, have graduated from high school with at least a 2.5 GPA.
- May be enrolled as a full or part-time student at John Tyler Community College.
- Preference will be given first to students enrolled in the Allied Health Preparation, Pre-Nursing (CSC) program and then to students enrolled in the Nursing (AAS) program.
- Must demonstrate some financial need.
Maude and M. Dale Kerby Memorial Scholarship

The Maude and M. Dale Kerby Memorial Scholarship is created to assist a student enrolled in the nursing program at John Tyler Community College with the cost of tuition, books and fees.

- Must maintain at least a 2.7 cumulative grade point average (GPA) while enrolled, or for incoming freshman, must have graduated from high school with at least a 2.7 GPA.
- May be enrolled as either a full-time or part-time student at John Tyler Community College.
- Preference will be given to students enrolled in one of the following: Nursing (AAS), Nursing – Traditional RN Track (AAS), Nursing – Hybrid Distance Education Track (AAS).

- Preference will be given first to residents of Midlothian and then to Chesterfield County.
Morris B. Crowder, Jr. Memorial Scholarship

The Morris B. Crowder, Jr. Memorial Scholarship is established to assist a student enrolled in the funeral services program at John Tyler Community College with the cost of tuition, books and fees.
The following criteria must be met:
- Complete a scholarship application.
- Must maintain at least a 2.5 grade point average (GPA) while enrolled.
- May be enrolled either as a full or part-time student at John Tyler Community College.
- Must be enrolled in one of the following programs: Funeral Services (AS), Allied Health Preparation, Pre-Funeral Services (CSC).
- Must have completed at least 30 credits toward degree.
- Must reside in John Tyler Community College’s service region.
Preston and Ann Leake Endowed Scholarship

The Preston H. and Ann K. Leake Endowed Scholarship is established to assist students enrolled in the nursing or pre-nursing program and is available regardless of national test scores. The scholarship is designed to assist a John Tyler Community College student with the cost of tuition, books and fees.
The following criteria must be met:

- Must maintain at least a 2.8 grade point average (GPA) while enrolled, or for incoming freshman, have graduated from high school with at least a 2.8 GPA.
- May be enrolled either as a full or part-time student at John Tyler Community College.
- Preference will be given first to students enrolled in Nursing (AAS) or Allied Health Preparation, Pre-Nursing (CSC) program.
- Must demonstrate some financial need.
Richmond Academy of Medicine Alliance Scholarship

For the past 42 years, the Richmond Academy of Medicine Alliance (RAMA) Foundation has held a benefit antiques show to raise money for selected non-profit organization in the community. In 2004, for the first time, RAMA has added a nursing scholarship of its own to its list of philanthropic endeavors. The scholarship will be distributed equally among four area nursing programs. The John Tyler Community College Nursing program has been selected as one of the recipients of a scholarship, to be distributed to a John Tyler Community College student toward the cost of tuition, books and fees.
Eligibility criteria include:
- Completion of a scholarship application.
- Must maintain at least a 3.2 grade point average (GPA) while enrolled, or for incoming freshman, must have graduated from high school with at least a 3.2 GPA.
- May be enrolled as either a full-time or part-time student at John Tyler Community College.
- Must be enrolled in one of the following: Nursing (AAS), Nursing – Traditional RN Track (AAS), Nursing – Hybrid Distance Education Track (AAS).
- Must demonstrate some financial need.
- Must have successfully completed at least 30 credit hours toward the nursing degree.
- Scholarship recipients will be expected to attend the organization’s annual luncheon in May of the following year.
Richmond Funeral Directors Association Scholarship

Shirley Moore Keyes Funeral Services Student Scholarship

The Shirley Moore Keyes Funeral Services Student Scholarship was established to honor Ms. Shirley Moore Keyes. Ms. Keyes is the mother of Rhonda Keyes Pleasants, a faculty member in the JTCC funeral services program. This scholarship is designed to assist a John Tyler Community College student, enrolled in the funeral services program, with the cost of tuition, books and fees.
Eligibility criteria include:
