The John Tyler Community College faculty is committed to the importance of study abroad. This scholarship is established to help students enrolled in a course which requires travel and study abroad. The scholarship will be awarded based on academic merit and financial need and will assist a student enrolled at John Tyler Community College with the cost of tuition, books, fees, and required supplies for summer study abroad.

Eligibility criteria include:

• Completion of a scholarship application.
• Must maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) while enrolled.
• Preference will be given to students enrolled in a degree program.
• Preference will be given to students enrolled in more than one course offered through the summer study abroad program.
• Must demonstrate some financial need.
• In addition to the essays required by the application, applicants must provide an additional one-page essay describing the connection between the international program and their academic and professional goals.
