John Tyler Community College Quick Connect

The Richmond Area Pre-Employment Program for Jobs in Manufacturing, Construction and the Skilled Trades

John Tyler Community College Quick Connect is offered when an adequate number of our Manufacturers’ Coalition members have or anticipate they will have entry-level job openings for the students who complete the class. Due to the downturn in the economy, there are not an adequate number of entry-level job openings to justify offering a John Tyler Community College Quick Connect class at this time. Check back here for updates.

What is John Tyler Community College Quick Connect?

John Tyler Community College Quick Connect is a 7-week evening class that prepares trainees for entry-level positions with Richmond-area employers in manufacturing, construction, and the skilled trades. It is an initiative of John Tyler Community College, guided and supported by the John Tyler Community College Manufacturers' Coalition, whose purpose is to unite local manufacturing, construction and skilled trades employers to address important industry issues.

Why was John Tyler Community College Quick Connect developed?

Richmond-area employers in manufacturing, construction and the skilled trades are seeking to attract well-qualified candidates into entry-level positions. The employers face significant challenges with a full-employment economy, retirements of skilled workers and an increasingly competitive marketplace. Their aim is to “fast-track” a highly qualified group of trainees into promising new careers in manufacturing, construction and the skilled trades.
