Contract Courses

Whether it’s technical or professional development, a job skills upgrade, or instruction leading to a degree, John Tyler Community College responds to the educational requirements of local business and industry. The Extended Learning Office will work with businesses to design, coordinate and deliver quality, customized instruction at their site or on campus. Courses can be designed to stand alone or as part of a sequence leading to a certificate or degree.

The contract course advantage:

  • Provides just-in-time learning for employees
  • Courses are customized to business needs
  • Cost-effective and convenient solutions for upgrading workplace skills

John Tyler Community College also meets the specialized needs of area school divisions by offering courses designed for teachers, administrators, and support staff. Many of these courses fulfill requirements for teacher recertification or may be used to enhance computer-based competencies. Professional development courses can be tailored to the specific needs of school personnel and offered as a contract course on site or at the College. The Extended Learning Office can work with school systems to design and deliver courses in technology integration, classroom management, special education, or many other topics in support of K-12 education.
