Weekend College

Weekend College is an innovative program designed to meet the educational needs of today’s working professionals or others whose personal commitments or geographical locations complicate the pursuit of a degree. Classes typically meet on Friday evenings and on Saturdays. By meeting every other weekend, actual classroom hours are only half the hours of conventional college classes. Attendance at each of the eight class meetings is crucial for student success. Instructors rely on students’ self-motivation and independent learning skills as part of their course plans. A wide variety of general education courses are offered, as well as courses in support of degree programs. Weekend College classes are designated in the course schedule with a “W” in the section number (for example, BIO 141-W1B).
