What is the Student Information System?

The Student Information System is a secure, self-service area where students can enroll in and drop classes, pay their tuition and fees, request unofficial transcripts, view their grades, view their financial aid and much more.

In the past, students have used JTpassport (also known as VCCS SIS8.9) to perform these functions.  JTpassport required a separate login from the Blackboard and VCCS student e-mail.  Now, myTyler brings these three functions together and allows students to access the Student Information System, Blackboard and VCCS student e-mail with one login – a student’s username.

Once you are logged into to myTyler, you will see “Student Information System” as one of your options.  When you click here, you will be taken into the Student Information System, which was formerly known by the name JTpassport.

Please remember that you can generally only register for classes during registration periods, and that all tuition and fees are due by 5:00 p.m. on the Friday of the week you register.  (Please note that registration dates may vary for courses that are dynamically dated and meet at times that differ from the College’s regular academic semesters.  These courses are noted in the class schedule in the “Session” column with dates that indicate when the class will meet.  Students may enroll in dynamically dated classes until the first day of class, if space is available.)

If you would like to pay your tuition and fees online, you can pay with a MasterCard or Visa through the Student Information System in myTyler. American Express is not an acceptable form of tuition payment.  In order to avoid duplicate payments, please do not click the submit button more than once when processing your payment.

If you prefer, you can pay for your courses using cash, check, Mastercard or Visa at the College’s Business Office.
