The Counseling and Student Success Services Office at John Tyler has professional counselors on staff to assist you with your educational, career and life planning.  Though the Counseling and Student Success Services Office is happy to assist you throughout your time at John Tyler, your college career is ultimately your responsibility.  We encourage you to explore these pages and take advantage of the services available to you. 

Counseling staff provide:

• SDV 100 – College Success Skills classes

• Personal counseling

Student Success Center staff provide:

• Tutoring in most courses offered at John Tyler
• Tutorial software
• Training in test-taking skills
• Training in study skills
• Supplemental academic advising
• Assistance with transfer to four-year colleges and universities

Career Services staff provide:

• Career exploration, assessment and counseling
• DISCOVER Career Planning Program
• MBTI Personality Assessment
• Strong Interest Inventory
• Cover letter and resume writing assistance/training
• Job binder
