Tyler Inspired

John Tyler Community College’s mission is simple and ambitious: inspire student success and community vitality. See how many forms that inspiration can take with Tyler Inspired, a look into the lives of some of Tyler’s most passionate people:

International Education
Visit places like Peru, England, Scotland, France, Spain, India, and Africa through a growing collection of journals, videos and photos of our traveling faculty and students. Right now, catch up on this past summer’s trip to England and Scotland by reading Associate Professor of Speech Kerrigan Sullivan’s fun and quirky travel blog .

Revive
Going green is quickly becoming a way of life at Tyler thanks to Revive, the College’s new green initiative. Check out the latest on the College’s new green building at Midlothian, earth-friendly renovations at Chester, and College-wide recycling projects.

Student Clubs
Think there’s no student life at Tyler? Think again. Our clubs are full of passionate people serving our community and just having fun doing what they love. See for yourself on our student club pages.

Art and Literature
If you know Pissarro from Picasso and Hawthorne from Hemingway – or just wish you did – Tyler has a place for you. Each year, the College celebrates images and words with literature circles, the Sherwood Forest Literary Review, a literary festival, the Fool for Art Festival, and a range of classes. Plus, the librarians write a Library Space blog full of fun and useful information.

John Tyler YouTube Site
Check out the College’s growing collection of videos on our YouTube site, including commercials about who we are and what we do.
