Blackboard Content System
Workflows
What is a Workflow?
Workflows allow
groups,
(classes, departments, committees, clubs, etc.), to
work together on files. Tasks can be assigned
to group members through a workflow to direct
materials to those who need them when they need them.
The creator of the workflow can monitor the status
of each group member.
When each member completes their part of the
assignment, their revisions and comments can be seen
by all members of the group.
Examples of Uses
-
Instructors working on the curriculum for a
class or program can divide the work and view
shared resources. Content could even be shared
with other faculty outside the college.
- A committee or workgroup member can create a
workflow to send a document to all of the
members of the group to be reviewed. The
workflow will allow all members of the group to
see who has viewed and approved the document.
Comments can be viewed by all committee members
and any others to whom permission is granted.
Tutorials
Note:
If you do not already have
Flash Player installed on your
computer, you will need to download it before
viewing the animations. The animations are
best viewed at a screen resolution of 1024x768 or
higher; if your resolution is 800x600, you will have
to scroll to see the entire image. A control bar at the
bottom of the page will allow you to pause, rewind,
and replay each animation if needed.
The tutorials should be viewed in order as each builds
upon the previous one.
Thank you to

assistance with this project.
Thank you also to Joshua Seigler, (PVCC),
Kristy Walker, (RCC), and David Bartos, (JTCC), for their
assistance.
