Train graduates to perform the challenging task associated with supporting industrial production operations. Basic principles of mechanical component, such as gears, bearings, belts and chains, are presented in a hands-on, learn by doing environment. Key elements of reliability, laser alignment for example, are practiced in a laboratory setting with actual industrial components. Advanced techniques of preventative and predictive maintenance give the graduate a headstart on the needs of high tech production.
Program Requirements and Special Conditions
Students must meet JTCC admission requirements. Students must also complete placement tests (or equivalent) in mathematics, and scores will be used for appropriate course placement. If students have deficiencies in mathematics, JTCC offers developmental and prerequisite courses to prepare students for the curriculum. New students should visit the Advising Center and returning students their faculty advisor for more information.
