All instructors have the opportunity to utilize Blackboard in their courses. This learning management system has many tools that you may be asked to use. How to documents for tools that are commonly used in face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses can be found in every course in the Help and Support area of the Course Menu.
If you are taking an online course, you are required to take proctored tests. These can be taken in the JTCC Testing Centers, through an approved proctor, or by utilizing ProctorU. This application allows you to take the test from home while being monitored. If your instructor has indicated that this is a possibility for you and you are interested in learning more, information can be found in the Help and Support area in your course menu.
As a JTCC student, you have access to download Office 365. This will provide you with many of the Microsoft Office products that are commonly used in classes. Instructions and the link to download Office 365 are available on the opening page of Blackboard and in the Learn tab.
When you log into myTyler and click on gmail, you will see the apps icon in the top right hand corner of the screen. This will allow you to access a variety of apps available to you through JTCC. These include: Drive (docs, spreadsheets, slides), Calendar, Sites, Hangouts, Classroom, and YouTube.
Your instructor may have you download respondus lockdown browser to take tests and quizzes from home. This application is available in the Learn tab inside Blackboard.
