Please join Phi Theta Kappa Tau Rho and Beta Omicron Omicron at the University of Richmond’s Relay for Life on March 23rd-24th from 6:00pm-6:00am. More information about Relay for Life can be found by visiting www.relayforlife.org/uofrichmond.

There is a $10 registration fee to participate. Survivors and Caregivers do not have to pay this fee.

Canned Meats and Fish; Hot and Cold Cereals; Peanut Butter; Canned Vegetables; Canned Fruits; Pasta and Rice; and Spaghetti Sauce.

All non-perishable items will be accepted!

A Leaf for Emily

For those of you that knew Emily Tudor (or even if you didn’t) the Chester tutors and Phi Theta Kappa Tau Rho are currently accepting contributions toward a John Tyler memorial leaf. The JTCC Giving Tree is a beautiful work of art that memorializes people important to students & faculty. We feel it would be a fitting testament to all those Emily touched while she was here.

All proceeds benefit the JTCC foundation and support student scholarships & more. The foundation has generously offered to match our contributions. We hope to reach the silver leaf level ($250). The foundation will then match our contribution and upgrade us to the highest level, a gold leaf on the wall for Emily. So, if you are able, please consider donating. You can send your check to:

In Honor of Emily Tudor

It saddens us to announce a great loss to the JTCC family and PTK family. On behalf of her family and friends we’d like to ask each of you to take a moment to honor Miss Emily Tudor.

Emily was a JTCC alumnus, a past Phi Theta Kappa officer, a beloved English tutor at JTCC, and an overall generous and amazing person. Emily has been the ideal image of strength and perseverance during her long battle of living with the pain and suffering of an undiagnosed medical condition. This morning, Emily’s battle ended and with that loss came an even greater one. The announcement of her passing came on what should have been a joyous occasion, Emily’s wedding day. Emily was only 25 years old. Today the loss of such an amazing person is being felt by so many people who knew Emily including our PTK family and the JTCC family. Our thoughts are with Emily’s family during this difficult and sad time.

Angel Tree

With the holidays approaching us, it’s the perfect time of year to give to a perfect stranger! PTK Tau Rho has chosen an angel from the Angel Tree again this year. Now we are reaching out to you for your help in providing this angel with that “kid on Christmas
morning” feeling! There are two ways to donate:

If each member can donate $1 or $2, your officers will be able to purchase the items from our angel’s wish list! To donate financially, you can place the money or check in an envelope marked PTK Tau Rho and deliver it to Dr. Gena Britt in M129e by 5:00pm
Tuesday November 22, 2011. (Make Checks Payable to JTCC with PTK Tau Rho in the Memo line)

For item donation ideas please see our Angel’s wish list. Items should be delivered to Dr. Gena Britt in M129e by 5:00pm Tuesday November 22, 2011. If you intend on making an item donation but cannot do so by this time, please e-mail Ashley White with your intent and deliver the items by 10:00am on Monday November 28, 2011. This is a strict deadline because items have to be bagged, tagged, and turned in by noon.

Our Angel is a 9 year old girl. Her wishes include:
