John Tyler Community College
We are a place where you can travel the world, connect to an internship at a local Fortune 500 company, find your life’s calling or meet the mentor of a lifetime. Whether you want to take one class, transfer to a four-year college or university, or train for the workforce, we want to surpass your wildest expectations.
Since 1967, John Tyler Community College has been serving the community as a public, two-year institution of higher education. We offer high-quality, easily accessible, and affordable education for our students.
Our students are just as diverse. They graduate and transfer to top-notch colleges and universities. They train for technical careers. They take classes to upgrade job skills or for personal enrichment. They are high school juniors and seniors taking college-level courses in a local high school. And when not in class, our students explore interests and have fun with a vibrant range of student organizations.
Tyler is more than a college. We engage in our community. We host cultural and educational events. We work closely with industry, business and community leaders to find solutions today for the workforce of tomorrow. We are a major economic engine for Virginia and, particularly, for the College's service region, which includes Amelia, Charles City, Chesterfield, Colonial Heights, Dinwiddie, Hopewell, Petersburg, Prince George, Surry and Sussex.
