Hiring Range: $38,000-46,000 (Commensurate with qualifications and experience)

Responsibilities: Provide and maintain a safe, comfortable, and attractive campus environment that is conducive to teaching and learning. This position is responsible for serving as lead electrician for electrical projects and repairs at the Midlothian Campus and other locations as needed. Responsibilities include general electrical installation, repairs, and maintenance, performing required preventative maintenance, equipment inspections, and repairs, collaborating with Chester Campus counterparts, and communicating with management. Provides general maintenance duties to include, but not limited to carpentry, painting, mechanical repairs, moving furniture/equipment. Also, maintains adequate inventory of supplies & equipment, inspection reporting, and contract administration for services. Serves as essential personnel during inclement weather and/or College closures. Performs on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis. This is a full-time position.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical training and significant work experience in the electrical trade. Electrical Journeyman level card is required. Experience/training in OSHA and other applicable safety and health policies/procedures. Excellent customer service and communication skills for interacting and collaborating with a diverse group of employees, subordinates, students, and visitors to college campus. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to take initiative and contribute to a high level of team performance and morale with little supervision. Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs. Valid Virginia Driver’s license. Successful completion and passing of a background check.
*All full-time classified employees new to the Commonwealth of Virginia will serve a 12-month probationary period.
