Hiring Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

General Information: In need of qualified instructors to teach dual enrollment classes at Hopewell and Petersburg high schools. Adjunct faculty teaching is limited to a maximum of 8 credit hours in the summer semester, 12 credit hours in the fall semester, and 12 credit hours in the spring semester. These limits are for total number of credit hours taught in the Virginia’s Community Colleges (VCCS). Additional restrictions may apply depending upon other positions occupied within VCCS.

Responsibilities: Part-time dual enrollment instructor to teach online/hybrid ITE 115, Introduction to Computer Applications and Concepts course. Must have demonstrated internet and computer skills which include word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. Must have prior experience with Microsoft Office 365 (2016).

Qualifications: Minimum of a master’s degree in information technology or computer related field, or master’s degree in related field with 18 graduate semester hours of information technology or computer related field coursework.

Required Qualifications: Ability to use instructional technologies. Able to provide online instruction utilizing Blackboard. This is a hybrid course which requires both online and classroom instruction. The successful candidate must be willing to travel to area high schools a minimum of 2 days/week and follow the high school academic schedule. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and oral/written communication skills required. Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior teaching experience at the secondary or postsecondary level.
