Responsibilities: Full-time, nine-month teaching positions available in nursing for the Fall 2018 semester to teach a variety of courses in face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online formats. Full-time teaching responsibilities include teaching the equivalent of 12-15 credit hours per semester, engaging students in the learning process, clinical supervision of students, course and curriculum development, student advising, and accurate maintenance of student files. Full-time faculty members fully participate in nursing program development and evaluation, college activities and committees, and represent John Tyler Community College at community events and professional opportunities.
Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Nursing required by the start date. Experience in medical surgical nursing, experience teaching at the post- secondary college level, excellent oral and written communications skills; ability to teach a combination of day, evening, weekend, hybrid, and/or online classes; and flexible to work at any of the College’s locations. Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check. Preferred qualifications: Ability to use instructional technology. Experience with the Virginia BON regulation and ACEN accreditation criteria.
