After much hard work, the celebration begins as the members of John Tyler Community College’s Class of 2017 mark their graduation! On Friday, May 12, the college will honor its 2016-2017 graduates during Tyler’s Commencement Ceremony being held in the Multipurpose Building at Virginia State University. The Honorable Rosalyn Dance, who represents the 16th District in Virginia’s Senate and who is also a Tyler alumna and a member of the JTCC Foundation Board will deliver the commencement address.

Among this year’s graduates are entrepreneurs eager to start their own ventures, former members of the military ready to put new skills to work, career changes, IT enthusiasts, musicians and more. Some of these stories are shared on Tyler’s Graduate Spotlight web page. For a complete list of graduates, visit the news release section of the college’s web site. The community is invited to cheer on the graduates by attending the ceremony or by posting messages of congratulations on Tyler’s Facebook page. The ceremony will be livestreamed for those who cannot join the festivities in person.
