Over time, an artist’s processes evolves and matures. That’s what Tyler Art Professor Colin Ferguson hopes people will see when they visit his new exhibit, “Colin Ferguson: A Professor’s Retrospective.” The exhibit opens Friday, September 21 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Tyler Art Gallery, located at the college’s Midlothian Campus in Eliades Hall, room E107. All are invited to attend.
The exhibit features over 30 years of Ferguson’s artwork, including drawing and paintings, with a heavy emphasis on how his art developed through his formative years as he investigated figurative realism. The show also includes a number of Fergusons more recent works, intimate portraits of family and friends. Ferguson is beginning his eighteenth year of teaching at Tyler.
The exhibit will remain on display through October 26, 2018. The Tyler Art Gallery is open on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. and Thursdays and Fridays from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.
