The start of a new semester is often an exciting time, but it also tends to be quite busy. Here are a few tips that can help you get ready for the start of your classes.
Double-check your Class Schedule
Log into myTyler, and check your class schedule. Make sure to note your class locations, so you can make sure you know which campus and building to go to for your in-person classes or when to log in to your online classes. Also look at the date your class is due to start. Remember JTCC offers different class sessions, with different start dates.
Buy your Textbooks
Make sure you have your textbooks. To see which books you need, go to the Bookstore web site at www.jtcc.edu/bookstore, and look up your classes. If you are using financial aid to pay for your books, purchases may be now through January 30.
Check your Student E-mail
Keep an eye on your student e-mail for important information from your instructors or from other college offices.
Learn about Important Dates
Check out the college’s academic calendar, which contains important dates such as deadlines to add a class, drop a class or withdraw from a class, as well as holidays. Once your classes begin, your instructors will provide you with a syllabus, specific to your course. Your syllabus will include additional dates you need to know.
