Academic Support

Academic Resource Center (ARC)

The ARC provides free tutoring services to Tyler students.

Remote Assistance
The primary mode for tutoring beginning in fall 2020 will be remote via Zoom. Given the need for social distancing and limits to the number of students and staff that can be in the center at any given time, this will allow tutoring staff and the ARC to provide the most effective and dynamic support across the college.

Virtual drop-in hours, which may be accessed at, will be available 10am–6pm Monday through Thursday, as well as by appointment for any time throughout the week requested by the student. The ARC will try to accommodate students’ appointment requests, but appointments are subject to tutor availability. Students wishing to make an appointment after drop in hours, can fill out their request here. Students will need to be logged into their MyTyler account to access the form.

On-Campus Assistance
The ARC will be open from 10 am–5 pm Monday through Thursday on both campuses.

The purpose of on-campus support is to help students with technical difficulties such as accessing course work on Canvas, utilizing Zoom, setting up Respondus, etc. Priority will be given to students who have made appointments to come in, but we will try to accommodate students who walk-in as space and distancing allow. The number of students will be limited to no more than 12 people per center at any one time and students will be allowed a maximum of one hour in the ARC. No student guests will be allowed in the ARC.

On a limited basis, students may also reach out to the ARC for on-campus tutoring. Appointments will need to be requested 48 business hours in advance of an appointment. On-campus appointments will only be available throughout the week based on tutor availability and student needs. Requests should be made by emailing
