Tyler Libraries’ Curiosity Crew- Cats vs Dogs: Scientists confirm felines are better…
3:00pm - 4:00pmLocation: Online
Time: 3:00 PM - 4:00 PMThe debate between cats and dogs has been one which has long divided animal lovers. Scientists have now joined the discussion and confirmed that cats really are better than dogs... at least, they are when looked at from an evolutionary perspective. A study of ancient fossils has revealed that historically, felids (the family which cats belong to) have been better at surviving than canids (the family which dogs belong to). Often, this has been at the dogs' expense. Evidence showed that while cats played a major role in making 40 dog species extinct, there was no evidence of dogs wiping out any cat species. Surprised? Want to know more? Check out the article here.
