Music and its impact on the brain is something that has interested scientists for years. Something that makes them particularly interesting is that songs often fuse words and music, but the human brain can almost instantly separate a song's lyrics from its melody. How does it do that? Scientists now think they know how it happens. According to research, when the brain processes a song, the song is being processed simultaneously by two different parts of the brain. The left hemisphere is able to decode the speech content, but it can't decode the melodic content. On the other hand, the right hemisphere can do the exact opposite.
