John Tyler Community College is a two-year, public institution of higher education and one of the largest of the 23 community colleges in Virginia.

Students Served:

Tyler served more than 13,600 students during the 2019-20 academic year. It also assisted more than 6,300 learners through its workforce development division, Community College Workforce Alliance.

Community Impact:

• In fiscal year 2017-18, John Tyler Community contributed more than $300 million in income to the community.
• More than 95% of Tyler’s students remain in Virginia after they complete their educational goals, with about 80% staying in the college service region after attending Tyler.
• For every $1.00 invested in John Tyler Community College in 2017-18, state and local taxpayers will receive a cumulative value of $8.70 and students will gain $6.40 in added income.
