How do I get a reloadable John Tyler Community College Visa® Prepaid Card?
Register on the JTCC Refund Portal. Students who select the John Tyler Community College Visa® Prepaid Card for their refunds will receive the card in the mail from Visa. Conditions apply.
How quickly will I receive my card?
Including mailing time, it can take 7-10 days for your card to arrive, though often it arrives much faster.
How is the card different from a credit or debit card?
It is a prepaid debit card backed by the purchasing power of the Visa network. There are no interest payments, and it is not tied to a separate bank account and applicable fees. You can only spend up to the balance on the card. To reload the card, money can be transferred to and from a current checking count at any time, with no charge.
Is it important for me to keep my John Tyler Community College Visa® Prepaid Card?
Yes. Any refunds you receive in future semesters will be deposited to your original John Tyler Community College Visa® Prepaid Card.
What if my card is lost or stolen?
Immediately Contact TMS, or visit the JTCC Refund Portal to have your card inactivated. The College cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen cards. TMS charges a $9.00 replacement card fee.
Where can I use the card?
The John Tyler Community College Visa® Prepaid Card can be used to make purchases wherever debit Visa is accepted. Use the Allpoint ATM locator to find fee-free ATMs off-campus.
Allpoint ATMs are also located on campus at:
- Chester: First Floor of Moyar Hall
- Midlothian: First Floor of the Administration Building
When refunds are disbursed each semester, ATMs on campus will be very busy. To avoid the wait, use the card at another Allpoint ATM or wherever Visa Prepaid Debit cards are accepted.
What fees are associated with the John Tyler Community College Visa® Prepaid Card?
Free features of the card include withdrawals from more than 50,000 AllPoint ATMs and use at any merchant that accepts Visa. Because this is a prepaid debit card, there are no insufficient fund fees.
Other fees are as a follows:
- In-network ATM inquiry fee: Two free inquiries, $0.50 cents each after
- Bill pay (paper/electronic): $0.95 each
- Bill pay-stop payment: $20.00 each
- Cash advance/over-the-counter bank withdrawal: 2% of withdrawal amount
- Card reissue fee: 9.00
- Abandoned or inactive account fee(after 12 Months of inactivity): $3.00 per month until zero
Is the card safe to use?
The card is protected by Visa’s Zero Liability policy. Loaded funds are FDIC-insured.
How much money can I withdraw from my card in a day?
You can withdraw up to $1,500 dollars a day.
