Fool for Art is right around the corner! On April 16th, the community will converge on the Midlothian campus for a day of art, crafts, fun, and foolery. PTK-BOO does our part by working in the Art of Learning tent, a place for children of all ages to come to learn from Tyler students, faculty, and staff with different hands-on activities and programs. PTK-BOO will join with the Tau Rho chapter to help visitors create their own pinback buttons at the Bright as a Button table. This is a great way to meet fellow PTK members and help Tyler and Phi Theta Kappa with community outreach and engagement.

The event is on Saturday, April 16th from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on the Midlothian campus grounds. Please note that the shirt with most votes will be what is ordered for everyone. Voting will end on Sunday, March 27th to have shirts ordered in time for the event.

Thank You Notes and Supplies for Our Troops! March 14th – 18th, 2016 2nd floor of Hamel Hall
Join PTK’s BOO chapter in collecting items for our troops serving overseas:
- Baby wipes (moist towelettes)
- Feminine products
- Hand/foot warmers
- Face tissue
- Foot powder
- Chewing gum, breath mints
- Lip balm, chapstick
- Tooth brushes
- Tooth paste
- Deodorant (solid only)
- Non-aerosol shaving cream
In addition to the toiletry donations, please take the time to sign a thank you card to include in the care packages. Donations will be sent to the Blue Star Families of Richmond. This organization will help to find the troops that are in need of care packages and ship the packages on BOO’s behalf. Help PTK-BOO spread the word about the importance of completing what you have started here at John Tyler. BOO’s annual Commit to Complete campaign will be held on Tuesday, February 23 and Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. in the lobby of the T-building on the Midlothian campus.
If you would like to help the chapter, come to speak with fellow students about the importance of completing your education and provide resources to help anyone facing life’s barriers that may be hindering their progress through school. Anyone willing to pledge to complete their educational goals will be treated to hot chocolate by BOO!

Join PTK-BOO for our blood drive with the Virginia Blood Services on January 21, 2016 in Hamel hall, H109 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Registration will be held outside of the Midlothian library January 13 – 20th or you can register online at https://vadonor.org.

The Beta Omicron Omicron chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and the Virginia Blood Services will host the next blood drive on Tuesday, November 17, 2015. The drive will be held in Hamel hall, H109 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Participants will receive a “tacky sweater” t-shirt!

Welcome back PTK-BOO members! Fall semester has started and so has PTK! Our first event for the fall 2015 is the blood drive with the Virginia Blood Services on September 22nd from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. in Hamel hall, H109.
To get this event rolling, we will have a registration table outside of the Midlothian library for the week leading up to the drive. Please encourage your classmates and instructors to consider donating! For more information about the drive, contact Mrs. Gonzalez at email@example.com.
We are also looking for officers for this school year. If you are interested in becoming President, Vice President, Secretary, or Treasurer, please contact either of your advisors to learn more about each position.

- Induction Ceremony Make-up: Friday, April 3rd at 6:30 p.m. in the Nicholas Center (Chester campus). More information will be distributed on the induction ceremony soon.
- Club Carnival- April 9th. More information coming soon.
- Fool for Art- Saturday, April 18th from 10:00 – 4:00 p.m. We need as many volunteers as possible to help with the button making station.
- Commit to Complete- spring campaign. At the March 20th meeting, we will set dates for a spring C2C campaign.
