2020 Graduation FAQs
Am I still a graduate even though there’s no ceremony?
Absolutely! If you graduated in summer or fall 2019, your graduation has already been posted. If you are a spring 2020 graduate, we will begin verifying and posting graduations after grades are posted.
When will my graduation be official?
For spring 2020 graduates, we will begin graduating students for the spring semester after grades are posted. This process will take several weeks as we manually verify and post the graduation for each student.
How will I know when my graduation is official?
You can check your Student Services page in myTyler to know when your graduation has been completed.
Can I still order regalia (cap, gown, tassel)?
Yes, you can order online at https://www.bkstr.com/johntylerstore/shop/graduation.
How will I get my diploma?
Summer and fall 2019 graduates have already received their diplomas. Once the spring graduation process is complete, we will order the diplomas through our third-party vendor which can take approximately 30 days for delivery. When we receive the diplomas and are ready to distribute, we will notify graduates via student email and postal mail. Traditionally, we have offered diploma pick up in late July. At this point, we are not sure when the campus will reopen to allow us to offer diploma pick-up. Please stay tuned and know that, one way or another, we will get your diploma to you as soon as possible. You have earned it!
What if my next college needs to see my graduation now?
If you need proof of your completion prior to receiving your diploma, you may order an official transcript by visiting www.parchment.com. Be sure to mark the option “hold until graduation is posted” if you want your graduation to show on your transcript.
I understand I can participate in Tyler’s next commencement ceremony. How will you let me know about it?
We will communicate through your student email. If you decide you do or do not want to participate in the next ceremony, please let us know at email@example.com.
