All Month: "Intramural Sports Registration Opens" -- Students are able to register for all intramural sports starting Jan. 6th. 

Friday, Jan. 17th & Saturday, Jan. 18th: "Getting Started Open Lab Hours" -- Students can come in and have a tutor help them with semester study plans, Canvas, and any technology questions (Pearson, Cengage, Microsoft Suite, etc.). The event will take place at both campuses from 9am-2pm in a room(s) "TBA". 

Friday, Jan. 17th, Sat. Jan. 18th, & Sun. Jan. 19th: "La Rhonda" -- Eight world premieres. One epic story. La Rhonda, based on the film, play, and improv form the la ronde, features eight short plays about characters within a few degrees of separation from our original character, “Rhonda.” Students, staff and faculty are encouraged to attend. The event will take place in the Lynn Theatre at 7pm.

Friday, Jan. 24th: "Movin' opening reception" -- The Tyler Gallery presents the photography of Anne Savedge. For a number of years, Savedge has been photographing people involved in dance and other movement through space. Her fascination with capturing movement began with belly dancers and now includes ethnic dancers, modern dancers, ballroom dancers, acrobats, and twirling monks. Savedge uses in-camera techniques and digital processing to capture the energy and excitement of a performance in images. The event will take place at the Tyler Gallery in room E107 at the Midlothian campus from 5pm-7pm.

Friday, Jan. 31st: "Peer Review Open Lab" -- Students can come in and have tutors, as well as their peers, review essays and learn key concepts for effective essay writing. The workshop will located at both campuses in rooms that will "TBA" from 9am-2pm. 

Friday, Jan. 31st: "TEAS Prep Workshop" -- Students will recieve an overview of how to prepare for the different sections of the TEAS test, as well as go over practice problems to determine areas of focus. The workshop will be located at the Midlothian library lab from 2pm-4pm. 

End of Jan.: "Intramural Basketball season starts" -- For those interested please be sure to register by clicking the link under "Intramural Sports".  

All Semester: "College Night @Laser Quest" -- All Tyler students are invited to participate in Laser Quest Night between 6pm-9pm on Wednesdays & Thursdays for the discounted price of $6.50 per game. You must present your Student ID. 

All Semester: "Recreational Swimming" -- Participate in recreational swimming at Virginia State University, Daniel’s Gymnasium pool between the times of 7pm-10pm.  You must present your Student ID.

Intramural Sports 

To register for all intramuaral sports you must be logged into your student email account. 

Volleyball Club: "Sign-Up Today" -- We're looking to start-up a Volleyball club here at Tyler. The club will meet 1 or 2 times a week. Joining this club is a great way to stay active and meet new people. Participants can be of any skill level. Sign-up by emailing studentactivities@jtcc.edu

Basketball Intramurals: "Sign-Up Today" -- Intramural basketball season starts at the end of January. Games are held at Virginia State University, Monday - Thursday from 6pm-10pm. Click HERE to register!

Flag Football: "Sign-Up Today"-- Flag football registration for the spring semester will start January 6th. Click HERE to register!

Student ID's

Student IDs can be picked up from the Office of Student Activities during normal business hours. There is no charge for a student ID. Student IDs may also be required to attend certain student activities on campus.
