Social Sciences Research Expo

 

The 2020 Social Sciences Research Expo is now a Virtual Research Expo!

Students will create and submit a virtual display for their research project. In other words, instead of a tri-fold or poster display, you will creatively summarize and present your research on 2-3 slides in jpg format that can be posted together in the Virtual Research Expo album on the Student Activities Facebook page. Beginning April 23rd, these projects will then be voted on by the public and there will be awards/prizes for the top three projects.

Virtual displays should include the following:

  • Topic/thesis statement/question
  • Purpose
  • Variables and Hypothesis (if applicable)
  • Brief summary of Research
  • Data
  • Conclusions
  • Application/Future considerations
  • Graphics and/or creativity

Each slide should include "Title, Last name, Slide # (1, 2, or 3)" at the top for identification. Powerpoint or Keynote slides must be converted to jpg files before submitting.

How to Enter

You must fill out a submission form to enter your research project in the Virtual Research Expo. In addition, you must send jpgs of your three research slides to Michael Rutz at mrutz@jtcc.edu. Any research from fall 2019 and spring 2020 semesters, regardless of course, is eligible.  Even if you haven't received a grade for your research, you may still submit it for the Expo.
