January

Monday, Jan 11th - Friday, Jan 15th: "Virtual Spirit Week" -- All week we will celebrate being back in class. Although we will be virtual, we want students, faculty and staff to engage with us. To participate take a photo of  you attending virtual class, a new textbook, or wearing some Tyler SWAG. To enter into the drawing via Instagram post the photo in your story and tag @jtccsga, to enter on Facebook join the JTCC Student Activities Facebook Group and post the picture on the group feed. Participants will be entered into a drawing to win a Tyler SWAG bag.

Tuesday, Jan 19th: "Virtual Escape Room" - Grab a few classmates and try to escape the "virtual escape room". The event will take place at 6pm. The escape room will be done through Zoom. All participants will need to register. REGISTER HERE!

Wednesday, Jan 20th: "Workout Wednesdays - HIIT & Core Session" – We will have a 30-minute HIIT & Core class led by Vibrant Moves instructor Candice. Students, faculty, and staff can choose to join live or view later on when the link becomes available. HIIT & Core class will be hosted from 3:00pm - 3:30pm. REGISTER HERE!

Thursday, Jan. 21st: "Tasty Thursdays" – Every month on Thursday at 6pm, you will be able to travel to some of your favorite destinations from your own kitchen. Follow along with Chef Shelly as she teaches you how to prepare the meal of the week. Cooking sessions will be between 25 – 45 minutes from start to finish. The week before each cooking session we will send out the dish and ingredients needed to prepare for each cooking session in the weekly newsletter sent to your student email every Friday. REGISTER HERE!

Wednesday, Jan 27th: "Workout Wednesdays - Yoga Session" – We will have a 30-minute yoga class led by bareSOUL Yoga instructor Mikaela. Students, faculty, and staff can choose to join live or view later on when the link becomes available. Yoga will be hosted from 3:00pm - 3:30pm. REGISTER HERE!

Thursday, Jan 28th: "DIY Thursdays" - Join the virtual DIY session taught by our very own faculty member Jessica Stanley at 3pm. The DIY project will be announced before the virtual event.  All sessions will require polymer clay (like SuperSculpy) to be able to fully participate, but participants can also just watch and ask questions if you don't have the supplies. Clay sculpting tools and craft wire would be a bonus, but they definitely aren't required, as the sculpting be done with household objects. Students will learn how to paint their sculptures as well. Paintbrushes and acrylic paints would be good to have, but are not required. Participants can pick-up materials in the student activities office at either campus. REGISTER HERE!

Thursday, Feb 25th: Black History Month Performance" - Ms. Crowell-White will do an reenactment of Harriet Tubman or Harriet Tubman. This will be a virtual event and will be held at 12:30pm. Registration will be available soon.
