The Military and Veterans Education Office continues to provide its services remotely, and new and current students are encouraged to access these services from off campus. The Military and Veterans Education Office is also providing on-campus assistance for students who are unable to access services remotely.

Remote Assistance

For assistance with using military benefits, GI Bill certification, tuition assistance and MyCAA process, students can make an appointment by emailing, calling 804-706-5014, or scheduling an appointment in Navigate. Staff are available virtually:

Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Emails will receive a response within 24 hours.

Students can request GI Bill Certification by completing the Enrollment Certification Request Form.

On-Campus Assistance

Staff are available by appointment for on-campus assistance: 

Chester Campus (Moyar Hall, Room M132)
Monday – Wednesday and Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Midlothian Campus (Administration Building, Room B107)
Tuesday and Thursday:  8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Students must make an appointment to meet with a staff member. Appointments can be made in Navigate, by emailing or calling 804-706-5014.

When arriving for your appointment:

  • All visitors should sign in prior to entering the office. Family members are discouraged from accompanying the student and will be limited to a single family member.  Additional family members will not be permitted to enter the office and may be asked to wait outside the building. All visitors must follow Tyler's safety protocols on campus.
  • Students should bring a copy their Certificate of Eligibility (CoE) for the M&VEO staff if applying for GI Bill benefits.
  • Students using the Virginia Military Survivors and Dependents Education Program (VMSDEP) should bring a copy of their approval letter for the M&VEO staff. 


The Military & Veterans Education Office (MVEO) helps connect:

  • active duty military,
  • eligible veterans,
  • reservists/guardsman,
  • disabled veterans (with service-connected disabilities),
  • and dependents

to a world of opportunity through U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Educational benefits and related services.

The MVEO has four staff members working on the college’s two campuses, as well as the Ft. Lee Education Center.
